Nancy O'Dell began her broadcast career as an anchor and reporter at WPDE-TV located in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Then she became a morning reporter and anchor at WCBD TV. O'Dell's articles in Charleston concerning how Charleston police acted in DUI cases with leniency caused an investigation by State Law Enforcement Division. This investigation led to a more strict direction for state officials. Ms. O'Dell won an award for the Best Report of the Award from the Associated Press for South Carolina's media. O'Dell's work in Charleston led her to serve as co-anchor, investigative report and NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Before joining Access Hollywood she was a co-anchor on weekdays as well as NBC's weekend co-anchor. Her current position as host for Access Hollywood is complemented by her contributions to NBC News Today, Dateline NBC, and NBC News. She's reported on events such as The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys and The Golden Globe Awards as in addition to hosting a series of pre-show arrivals for The Emmys and the Golden Globes. The other shows she has hosted include Miss USA, the Miss USA pageant, and Miss Universe.
